Swelling And Pain Persist After Mastectomy. Joint Pain And Tingling In Leg By Having Femara
I had a mastectomy in Oct 2013 and still have swelling around the area and severe pain. The surgeon who operated has been replaced by another surgeon who tells me I suffer from chronic pain and did nothing for me but wants to see me in Oct 2014 (a long time to wait). I was on Arimidex tablets which were changed to Femera because of possible side effects. I have been on Femara for 2 weeks and suffer badly from joint pain also tingling in legs and feet. There is also a feeling of internal heat. The condition is on a daily basis and is most unpleasant. I have found that I am also gaining weight with the cancer tablets and feel tired and depressed. the symptoms you are feeling are the side effects of the femara tablets you are taking, you should go back and see your surgeon who is taking care of you ,as you need to be sorted out as femara tablets are giving you the side effects.
for the swelling you have i would suggest that get a mamogram or breast ultrasound done according to your age to see what is swelling because you are not meant to get a swelling after mastectomy.
you might even require a fine needle aspirate to be done for the swelling.
