Swelling And Hives After Reaction To Framycetin Sulfate. Drank Wine. Taken Antihistamines. Will Wine Worsen Condition?

My husband has had an extreme reaction to the Framycetin Sulfate in Proctol. He has swelling & hives from head to toe. This is the third day. He has been given antihisamines by the doctor but there has been little improvement.
He did have red wine last night. Would the sulfites in the wine made this condition worse? How long should this last
He has not used the Proctol for 3 days.

Kindly avoid the drug for which he has developed the reaction as further exposure to it can cause severe reaction. As he has already consumed wine preferably avoid it further. As its not advisable to Consume alcohol when there is allergic reaction.
Take care
