Swelling And Bruising After Fall On The Ankle With Numbness Near Calf, History Of Fracture On Same Leg. Suggestion?

I fell on my right ankle wrong a week ago and it is swollen, red and has bruising all on the right side. Also the top of my foot right where it connects to the calf is a little numb. Also, 13 years ago I broke this foot and 3 years ago I hurt my foot again. I never saw a doctor for the second injury but it was defiantly at least sprained

Welcome to the forum. Swelling on the same ankle ( R) again after a fall should not be neglected. You should get an X-Ray done to rule out any fracture or hair crack at the ankle. You should consult an orthopedic surgeon.

Since you have history of fall and bruise on the same ankle 2-3 times, the numbness that you are experiencing may be due to peripheral neuropathy. It can be due to peripheral nerve compression or bruise. It can result from peripheral nerve trauma. Hot fomentation can give relief. Pain relief spray may be helpful, take calcium tablets. Get clinically assesses for better diagnosis and treatment.

If you have a fracture get it crepe bandaged or plastered as may be the prescription of your treating doctor. Have a nice day, take care.
