Hi, I have had sweaty palms for a long time. It is horrible for obvious social reasons. I am a smoker but otherwise healthy individual, however, I rarely see the doctor. I have researched hyperhydrosis but have found very little answers as for an effective remedy. The last time I saw the doctor they did not find any reason for a concern and I guess I'm embarrassed to go back to the doctor for this. Thanks for any input you might have.
Hello, Hyperhydrosis of palms and soles has no obvious cause. It starts around adolescence and continues till adult life. Treatment options are limited.you could try iontophoresis treatment which involves passing a mild current through your palms which will shrink the sweat glands. It gives considerable improvement. Lotions containing aluminium hydroxide helps to a certain extent. Of late,Botox injections have been tried and seem to giving good results. You could consult your doctor to discuss the options. Hope this helped. Take care.
