Normally, if you still have a week to go before the expected date of periods, you can start taking progesterone tablets and continue taking them till you want to avoid your period. After stopping them, you will have your period normally in 2 - 3 days, maximum within a week. However, the period might be heavier than usual Please fiddle with your menstrual cycle only if absolutely necessary.
