Suggest Treatments For Irregular Periods Due To A Fibroid

sir mornig.i m/s basumati.i am of age 31.i am suffering from irregular periods since about some year. i hv one son of 3.5 yrs old.my weight is 62 kg. once my period starts,it take several days and by taking alopathic med.it stops.now after an ultrasound it comes to known that there is a fibroid of size 7.6*4.1cm in uterous.so doctor advise to take med.SAVISTA for 3 months.also i hv pain in lower stomach for few days. sir my qtn to you ...is the deases is curable ? should i take med or what?or any advice from u.

Hi,

You should take the medicine to slowly reduce the bleeding. It will make the fibroid to shrink to some extent thereby reducing the pain in the abdomen. It is not totally curable as withdrawing the medicine could bring back the fibroid size. The tablet cannot be continued for the longer time as it has it's own side effect.
