Hi, I am a black woman and has a corn on my left foot because i have trouble with swelling in my foot. I have been treating the corns now for one week by soaking in warm water and using a pumice. My corn is gone, but i the area is lighter (almost creamy colour - hypopigmentation) what can i use to restore the color dark brown.

Hi,

Don't worry about the hypopigmentation in that area. Use steroid cream application on the affected area for 1 month, exposure to Sun for 10 minutes. Before taking PUVA therapy by methoxsalen to regain the pigmentation as usual within months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Puvvula Kishore Kumar, Dermatologist
