what treatments or medication can be used to remove fluid from around the heart - patient is male and is 86 yrs- average weight, his weight has always been consistent , is a tall man About a year ago had a 'heart attack', cant remember the medical term, and about 6 or 7 weeks ago had a chest infection.
hello We first need to find out the cause for fluid around the heart. The likely cause for it in our patient appears to be a heart failure. The treatment involves the treatment of primary heart disease like medicine and also angiography And Stenting or bypass according to angio report. Also, in med he ll need water pills which will remove water out from around the heart and in the body. Also, need to reduce salt and liquid intake. If it still persists then we ll need to find out the cause, fluid might have to removed for testing and ct scan may also be required.
