Suggest Treatment To Prevent Miscarriage During Pregnancy

I have a history of miscarriages (3) but just had a successful pregnancy (9 mos old). I m pregnant again and to be safe the doctor put me on duphaston tablets, folic acid, aspirin, and it looks like pralertes (520 mg, IM). I can t really read doctor writing and the medication wasn t available when I stopped by the pharmacy. I can t find this online the way I spelled it. Can you point me in the right direction so I can find more information about it?

Hallow Dear,

I have gone through your history. Considering the bad history of the pregnancy you have, it is but natural that you and your doctor both will be concerned to save this pregnancy. However, at what stage of pregnancy did you have abortions? If it was in first 3 months and after 6 weeks, it is most likely to be due to progesterone deficiency.

Duphastoe is a progesterone preparation and helps to stabilize the pregnancy. Folic acid helps the healthy growth of the cells of products of conception. I will keep my fingers crossed about aspirin. However, there is no harm in continuing it. The injection you have mentioned cannot be understood. It might be uterine relaxant which has got no action in first 3 months, but is effective after that. It could also be some hCG or Progesterone preparation. Best option for you is to ask the prescribing doctor only if the chemist cannot figure it out. The commercial brand names of medicines differ regionally.

Along with these medicines, please take maximum bed rest.

If your abortions were between the 3rd and 7th month, please get ultrasonography done after 14 weeks of pregnancy. It will reveal if the mouth of the uterus(cervix) is weak. In such case, cervix will have to be reinforced by taking a stitch around it which is removed after 37 weeks to allow normal vaginal delivery.

I hope I have explained you in depth.
