Suggest Treatment To Get Rid Of Heaviness In Body

Hi my mother is 67yrs old. She had a lumbar stenosis decompression surgery done at L3/4 level. Its been 2 years now since surgery. She has been feeling heaviness in her head and also in the rest of the body. Her left 5th toe is very week and often feels there s no strength in it and it gets over flexed while walking or wearing sandals. She is also hypertensive and currently taking a pill everyday to control it. Please let me know what she can do to get rid of the heaviness in her body.

Hello,

You should go for liposuction or tummy tuck surgery. Here's a very simple explanation of how you you put on weight and will lose weight with surgery. Your body needs energy to function and your energy source is the food that you eat. A normal weight person successfully balances their energy intake (food eaten) with their energy requirements (daily activity). In other words, they burn up all the energy provided by the food they eat, and stay slim. However, you began to get fatter when you started to eat more food than you needed for your energy requirements. Over a long period of time the excess has been stored as fat around your body. In theory, just 100 calories eaten more than you need each day would lead to a weight gain of 5 kgs per year. Do that for 10 years and you could gain 100 lbs or 45kgs!

I have studied your case and I do not think that this heaviness which she is feeling right now is related to spine surgery in the past.Rather I think it can be due to three most common causes in this age group.
1.High blood pressure
2.Diabetes
3. Thyroid
I would recommend you to get above mentioned disease testes with the help pf the physcian. If there is any thing positive than she needs to take treatment for these drugs accordingly.
I would also recommend you to give her calcium and vitamin D regularly. Also she should avoid eating fatty diets which make our metabolism slow and make us feel sleepy.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you.Let me know if you want to ask any ither followup questions.
thanks
