Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gonethrough your query regarding nasal conestion, sneezing and watery nasal discharge for quite long time i.e. for last 16 years.

After thinking over your symptoms and treatment you have taken it appears as you are having Allergic rhinitis. Since your allergic rhinitis is quite old so there are possibilities of some complications like-

1- Turbinate hypertrophy.

2- Mucosal thickening of sinuses.

3- Blockade of osteomeatal complex of sinuses.

4- Nasal polyps.

So for treatment point of view it is very important to rule out above listed pathologies by a thorough clinical examination and necessary investigations. If any of above are there than that should be treated accordingly to get the excillent result.

Than for management of allergic rhinitis you may do-

1- Make your living / bed room with sufficient ventillation, avoid miosture and
carpet in bed room.

2- Avoid pet like cat and dog etc.

3- Use long acting antiallergic as fexofenadine with montilukast.

4- Intra nasal injection of Hydrocortisone may be used sub mucously over
inferior turbinate.

5- If turbinates are hypertrophied and creating nasal obstruction as in your case
than turbinate reduction may be tried by COBLATION.

6- To find out the allergen skin test may be performed and accordingly body
may be desensatize by suitable vaccine.

Above points are clearly mentioning the different modalities of treatment and which one or combination of few of them is neede in your case , it depends on your clinical findings.

Regards.
