Hello,
Very frankly speaking, there is no other way to treat your sugar levels properly except medications, controlled diet and regular aerobic exercises. If all the three ways are followed sincerly, you can control your diabetes.
As far as medicines are concerned you can increase the dose of xoryl in the night from half to one.
In addition, you can start VOGLIBOSE .3 mg three times a day for better control of your PP sugar levels.
Talk to your treating doctor about.
Thanks

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Noble Zachariah's  Response
Hello Venkatesh,
The complications in diabetes is related to the overall blood sugar value which you can judge better by doing an A1c (HbA1c). At your age you should try to get the value below 6.5%. Studies have shown that your risk for complications increases by 21% for each 1% elevation in your HbA1c. Also I notice that you are only on Glimepride which is a Sulphonyl Urea. In my practice I start with another medicine called Metformin which as per all the diabetes guideline should be the 1st line medicine for your type of diabetes ( Type 2). There are studies to show that people controlled on Metformin live longer and have less side effects than people on Sulphonyl urea like Zoryl.
It is very important that you have healthy life style with a proper diet, exercise and ideal weight. Proper management of stress ( Tension) also helps in achieving good control. You should not smoke. Cholesterol and other fats should also be checked and kept under control.
As for the natural things, many things are believed by people to help but there is no study or proof regarding most things. There is a study that Cinnamon helps to some extent.
I shall be happy to help you if you have any queries.
Dr. Noble Zachariah M.D.
