I am 68 +6 02 -228lbs......don t smoke and don t drink alcohol....I exercise daily and my heart rate resting is normally 62-65....however my BP is 145/86 when I first taking it...but will lower after resting 10 mins to 130/78 or so.....is this acceptable?????

I understand your query and concern.Blood pressure needs adequate control in your case.Maintain Blood pressure below 130/80 mm of hg in your case.Your blood pressure is slightly on a higher note. I advise you to have a baseline 2 dimensional echocardiography,ECG and lipid profile to assess the basic cardiac reserve of your heart.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6g/day.Regular physical exercise in the form of brisk walk for 20 min a day for 5 days a week is pretty useful.Drugs like antihypertensives ex metoprolol once or twice a day will help will help.Reduce the intake of fatty and fried food.One pomegranate a day will help to keep your heart at good pace without clot formation. Weight reduction will help to control the blood pressure an well Consult a Cardiologist for further expert management.Post your further queries if any. Thank you.
