Hello, I hear your concern. Better to take the Lipitor in your case. It sounds like you have a gene for both hyperlipidemia and for diabetes. Double whammy! Take the Lipitor and follow the lifestyle changes necessary to keep your heart healthy and that, in turn, will help prevent diabetes. In addition, take the easily absorbed sugars out of your diet now such as juice or sugary drinks, exercise on a regular diet, eat more soluble fibers such as lentils/oats.
