Suggest Treatment To Avoid Pregnancy?

I was prescribed trimethoprim for an UTI and had sex without a condom on the first day of the antibiotics. Could I be pregnant? I have missed my chance to get the morning after pill as it has been a few days. What else can I do to ensure that I wont become pregnant?

Hallow Dear,

If you have missed morning after pill, still there is a way for you avoid pregnancy. Within 5 days, please get intrauterine contraceptive device inserted, It will avoid your pregnancy and then will provide you on going protection against pregnancy for many years to come.

If more days have passed, you will have to assess the situation.

The egg is released 14 days prior to the next expected menses. It has got life of 24 hours. The sperms are active for 72 hours. Hence a week around the day of egg formation is Fertile Period. If you had the intercourse during this period, there are good chances that could become pregnant.

Please wait for the menses to appear in time. If they do not, still do not get panicky and perform urine pregnancy test (UPT) hurriedly. Urine pregnancy tests are non-conclusive or false negative if performed too early. So please wait for 8-10 days after missing the period. Then you can perform UPT and/or ultrasonography for detection of pregnancy.

If you are pregnant, you have got option of medical termination of unwanted pregnancy. These medicines terminate the pregnancy easily without complications up to 9 weeks after missed period.

I am sure I have give you detailed information and guidance. May I expect a 'Useful' remark from you?
