Suggest Treatment Options For Pleural Thickening In Diabetic Smokers

I am 60 years old man and 10-15 stick cigarette smoker. As per my CT scan report I am suffering from pleural thickening. Now I feel short breath and chest tighten. I am also suffering from diabetes type-2, high blood pressure, indigestion, gas & acidity etc etc. I can t sleep without medicine. Will you please help me.

Hello,

The pleural thickening needs to be further assessed to establish what kind of treatment is needed.

In my practice, I would advise you to have a pleural biopsy. The reason is that there is a chance of cancer developing in the pleura considering your smoking history.
