Suggest Treatment Fr Swollen And Red Cuticles On Toes

Hello, I ve been having an issue with my right big toenail for the past couple of years. It seems as if the nail stops growing normally, and the base of the nail gets a bit swollen and red. With barely any pain, I haven t been very concerned about it. There s no discolouring, no pus, no thickening, I have no ingrown corners or wounds. No other traumas, no surgeries, no past infections. I cut my nails regularly, never too close to the flesh. I ve been blaming it on the fact that I almost always wear socks, even when sleeping, due to the fact that my feet are cold at night, even during summer. Also whenever the swelling happens, a new layer seems to be growing underneath. Is it really because of the fact that I wear socks and sneakers usually so it doesn t have enough room to grow? Might there be an actual infection or type of fungus causing it?
