Hi,
No, this is not normal. You are not suppose to stop Metoprolol without your doctor telling to do so. Metoprolol is a beta blocker and it blocks beta receptors inside your body. If you stop a beta blocker abruptly, then these receptors will be acted upon and result in increased blood pressure and heart rate. And headache is also possible due to increased blood pressure.
I suggest you to get your Metoprolol back soon. I would also recommend you to get yourself examined by a physician and necessary treatment be instituted for your blood pressure lowering. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks fro writing into healthcaremagic. Take care.
