Suggest Treatment For Wheezing And Cough

Hi, my husband was taking lisinopril, bisopril and hydrochlorot. The Dr. doubled the dose of lisinopril and he started wheezing and coughing like he had a cold. The PA. on the Dr. orders took him off lisinopril and put him on telmisartan. He stil coughed an wheezed. Ended up going to Er and getting a treatment of albuterol, mucinex. Helped a lot for 2 days. Started having problems, called and saw Dr. She put him on predesone and albuterol treatment 3xday. Have had 2 chest x-rays nothing showed. Went to Dr. today she put him on potassium and an antibiotic. He was starting to have cramps beside and coughing with yellow phlegm. CT scan today showed nothing but still has pain in his lungs in the front and back. Any suggestions. Debbie

Hi,

Use a humidifier, take a steamy shower or sit in the bathroom with the door closed while running a hot shower. Moist air might help relieve mild wheezing in some instances. Drink fluids. Warm liquids can relax the airway and loosen up sticky mucus in your throat.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
