Suggest Treatment For Weight Loss And Exhaustion In A Person With Macroglobulinemia
My husband has Waldenstrom s macroglobulinemia. The biopsy showed 90% of his cells impacted by the disease. He is losing weight consistently. He started at 162 in January and is now down to 137. He is 72 years old and is very symptomatic - hyperviscosity, enlarged spleen, extreme exhaustion, weight loss, little to no appetite. He has just started having bone pain in his hips, legs and ankles. He is being treated with Rituxan and Velcade. What I want to understand is his prognosis. Our oncologist won t discuss this because he wants to see how he responds to treatment (he s on round 3), but he s obviously deteriorating. What can you tell me?
