Suggest Treatment For Vertigo And High Blood Pressure

I have been dignosed with copd. All the inhalers and even oxygen does not help. I feel like my throat is bound or wrapped in something, anxiety or lifting takes my breath away. I have been hospitalized the last two february for respiratory distress. I also suffer from vertigo, I am considering seeing an ENT. I must add that I loss all my hearing in my left ear, due to nerve damage. I am 70 with high blood pressure. Could I have obstruction in my throat?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
It would not be a bad idea to seen ENT if the pulmonologist feels that all has been done to treat your COPD. Physical obstructions are not common but are possible. Usually the obstruction with COPD comes from over production of mucus and bronchconstriction. These two aspects are what the inhalers are designed to treat.
