Hallow Dear,

It appears that you have acquired some infection during the unprotected intercourse.

Monistat you are using is an anti-fungal medicine. If it is a fungal infection, it will relieve you from the symptoms. However, invariably these are mixed infections, commonly fungal + Trichomonal. Please get examined from a Gynaecologist to find out the causative organism and then accordingly you may have to modify the treatment. Since the discharge is having offending smell, you have to consider the possibility of bacterial infection - could be Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI); and you may require additional antibiotics therapy also. The bleeding you are having could be due to your regular menses, ovulation bleeding or some lesion developed inside the vagina due to infected intercourse. Internal examination and you menstrual calendar calculations will clarify the matter.

Such infections do cause irritation during urination, intercourse, etc.

Please report to your Gynaecologist.

Along with the anti-fungal or any other medicine, please follow some more instructions:

1. Both the sexual partners should be treated simultaneously to prevent recurrence.

2. Complete sexual abstinence till both of you are declared completely cured by the doctor.

3. Use panty liners to prevent soiling of the underwear responsible for reinfectios.

4. Underwear should be boiled everyday.

5. Use Lactobacilli vaginal ovules along with the other specific medicines.

6. Use Lactobacilli perineal wash 2-3 time day.

I hope this provides you initial guidelines.
