Suggest treatment for vaginal bleeding post intercourse and vaginal dryness

I had a complete hysterectomy 27 years ago at the age of 35 ive always been of premarin until the last few years. About 4 years ago I started using an Estradiol patch 1%. Then a year ago .05%. In 2012 I had a double bypass followed by a cerebellar stroke. I recovered fully from both. During my time with the Neurologist, he found that I had had 6 previous strokes. (from the MRI). I am trying to give up the patches, not because I was advised to by any of the physicians I see, but because I read about them causing strokes. Since I quit, I have horrendous hot flashes every 30-40 minutes that leave me soaked, breathless, and heart pounding. I am also experiencing vaginal atrophy. severe dry skin around my vaginal area and no sexual desire. I don t know if I am doing the right thing. I have multiple drug allergies which makes it difficult to just use anything over the counter. I ve used many different remedies for the hot flashes that contain black cohosh and soy (which I was told not to use because of mu thyroid) to no avail. Ive used Luverna, Replens, Coconut oil etc for the dryness but it still hurts and leaves me bleeding after intercourse. My husband is very gentle with me and always has been. What should I do.

Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. Considering your age, and also because of your neurological condition, it is better not to go for any further hormone supplementation. To deal with hot flushes, you should always use loose fitting clothing preferably made of cotton material, practice breathing and relaxation exercises thrice a day, see that your surroundings are comfortable and cool and avoid stress. To deal with vaginal dryness, you can use K-Y jelly before intercourse to improve lubrication. This prevents the bleeding tendency. If you are on anti-coagulants, this could be another reason for the increased tendency to bleed. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
