Suggest Treatment For Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure

I was taking Diltiazem 240mg for high blood pressure & my blood pressure was not being controlled so she put me on Losartan 25mg. My blood pressure is still extremely high. I called her she said to continue Losarton 25mg it takes a couple of weeks to get in your system. My blood pressure is still very high I am concerned. Do you think she meant for me to take both drugs?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If your blood pressure is still very high, you would likely need multiple medications to control it and bring it down to safe values.

Some persons require a lot more that this.

If you are not currently using both medications then you should consider doing this.
If your BP is high with both medications then you may a third medication preferably a diuretic.

In some cases, uncontrolled blood pressure may be related to excess fluid volume and the diuretic would help with this.

I hope this helps
