hi
spurs in cervical spine form in a long period of time due to osteoarthritis in spine causing cervical spondylosis. It is a degenerative disorder which begins on its own and enhanced by lack of exercise due to undue load after neck muscles weaken.Spurs develop insiduously when spondyitis is of more than 2-3 years duration
it is a chance finding in your case as often mild spondilitis goes unnoticed due to minimal symptoms.
Rotator cuff surgery is not related to this area and tears of cuff are isolated injury due to wasted weakened muscles of shoulder and also a part of degenerative processs independently occurring in several areas of body simultaneously.
If one gets x ray of lumbar region onemay find changes there too but with no symptoms
Torn cuff needs repair surgery followed with muscle strengthening exercises
