Suggest Treatment For Tonsil Stones

Female, 18, 5'3. Medical history of lyme disease for 4 years, kidney infection, scarlet fever, plenty of strep. I have decent size tonsil stones behind my tonsils and it is really gross. I wanted to try to get one out that was really hurting so I used a soft wet q-tip and got one out (there are a lot in there) and i noticed it teared my tonsil a little but there is no bleeding. Is that bad? What should I do?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain Tonsil stones occurs due to calcification of food and debris that gets accumulated over the tonsils and are a potent cause for recurring throat infection and bad breath..
As you tried to dislodge and if there is a small tear over tonsils you need not to worry as it will get healed..
You can do warm saline gargles for soothing it and faster healing..As there are a large number of stones present consult an Otolaryngologist and get them removed..
You can also gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide in water and do warm saline gargles for reducing their formation..
You can also gargle with water after eating anything..
Limit intake of dairy and other high calcium foods as they increase stone formation..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
