Suggest Treatment For Tongue Pain And Difficulty Swallowing

Hi I have noticed tonight my you ge is sore on both sides and there are purple like veins down the side that are quite noticeable when I lift my tounge up it's sore when swallowing I am on erythromycin for chest infection for 3 days now (I have taken this bed hbe for years if I have needed antibiotics) I am worried something is wrong

Thanks for the query..

Soreness of tongue and pain when swallowing can be due to inflammation and irritation of the tongue leading to Glossitis.

As you are taking Erythromycin then the symptoms can be probably due to side effect of the antibiotic..
You also need to check if there is any white coating on tongue..

So for now my suggestion is to do warm saline gargles.
Gargle with specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash.
Take Vitamin B complex supplement.
Suck ice pops or do cold water rinses..

If the symptoms does not get better then consult an Oral Physician and get checked..
