Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation On Penile Head Post Unprotected Sex

I had unprotected sex almost a month ago. The tip of my penis, just inside the urethra has been tingling since less than 12 hours afterwards. I initially thought it was an STD, but urine has shown nothing, I have no discharge, no pain urinating, and no external symptoms, and I took antibiotics and an antiparasitic just incase. I felt ill for about 3 weeks, some of that was undoubtedly stress, but the tingle in my penis head, as well as muscle aching, shooting down legs, and abdomen pain were not all made up. I now realize the antibiotics could have helped a yeast infection grow stronger, I think. I have wondered about herpes, but I never got any lesions (I did take some valtrex though). I then stumbled upon yeast infection information. I have had a yeast infection on my shaft before, but it is not there now. I noticed my lips felt rough on one part about a week ago. They still do, and when I pulled the lip tight and looked closely, there are white specks under the skin. My question is, if I acquired a yeast infection through my penis, does it make sense that it would be manifesting itself in my mouth? Also, I had been in a pool all day. I was dehydrated and sweaty and slept in damp shorts, are these things that could make me more vulnerable to a yeast infection? Do symptoms start that quickly?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I will tell you a few most common causes of tingling in the penis shaft.
1. Gonorreah
2. Chlamydia
3. Bacterial urethritis infection
4. Dermatitis
5. Diabetes mellitus
6. Prostatitis
7. Genital herpes
8. Kidney stones
9. Traumatic damage to nerves in the penis

Gonorreah, Chlamydia, Genital herpes are conditions of sexually transmitted disease. Hence it has to be ruled out first. If you are sure that you have a very less likelihood of getting STDs, then other conditions like urinary infection, diabetes etc have to be ruled out. Also by your history, you have not mentioned about any obvious trauma to the penis.

Hence kindly go to a physician who will take a thorough history, do an examination and do some blood tests to rule out above conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
