Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation And Sometimes Numbness In My Leg Which Has Led To Multiple Falls

I have tingling all over like when your foot falls asleep ; some days in some areas I am numb, other days I am very sensitive (a soft touch hurts). Beginning in June, I have fallen eight times while walking. I have no forewarning it s as if my leg was all of sudden gone and I go down. Three times I have fallen down stairs and two weeks ago I was hurt pretty bad. I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis ( about 14 years ago).

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to peripheral neuropathy. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing nerve conduction studies. Another test to consider would be vitamin B12 plasma levels for possible deficiency.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
