first of all thanks. you would want to consult a pulmonologist and cardiologist for your heart and lungs. But as far as your thyroid is concerned you can't stop levothyroxine all of a sudden from 150mcg.
few queries
* why was thyroxine started is it for a nodule or high TSH ,?
*can give your initial TSH?
*on what dose were you started?
*when was it changed to 150mcg ? what was the TSH value at that time?

you would probably require 150 mcg to maintain TSH . All that we are doing is replacing the thyroxine which your gland fails to produce. It does mean that the gland would start working again. And there is no high dose or low dose as different people have different absorption.

you are supposed to eat thyroxine in empty stomach.
you are only supposed to drink coffee or tea or anything to eat after one hour. In case if you fail to take thyroxine one day properly then you can take double dose next day.

your weight gain is probably due to two reasons
1) you stopping thyroxine.
2)you are having steroids for a long time. It's fine as you are taking it for breathing difficulty.
