Suggest treatment for thumb numbness

I have spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and several herniated discs in my neck and back. About 10 days ago, I started with pain on the right side of my neck, shoulder, arm and numbness in my thumb. The pain is starting to get better although not completely resolved. My thumb is still completely numb. Will this come back?

Hi,
Going through the case history, it most likely that the cause was due to compression of the nerve root in the neck. It is good to note that your pain is getting better but regarding the numbness, it may not return unless the compression on the nerve is removed. So I would suggest you to go meet a spinal surgeon and consult with him at the earliest because, if the compression of nerve persists longer, then the numbness may not be reversible

Regards
Dr. Jeffrey
