Hi thanks for contacting HCM....
Constricting throat feeling can be simply by inflammatory swelling of posterior pharynx.
I have put this differential diagnosis first because you have history of frequent
throat infection...
Second constriction lead suspician of
asthma ....So for it confirmation
spirometry that is pulmonary function test done...
If positive then you might prescribed for inhaler therapy by
salmeterol.
Third tonsillar enlargement also can lead such symptoms....
So for rule out pharyngeal cause yes posterior pharynx examination done.
If floor of mouth inflamned with enlarge lymph nodes then Ludwig
angina like infection also can be there.
If needed swab taken for sensitivity.
Discuss these with your treating doctor and follow his advise.
Take care.
