Suggest Treatment For Thorn On The Knuckles

I was pruning my rose bushes yesterday and was stuck through my gloves. I did not realize until I came inside to shower that I had a brown piece of the thorn in my knuckle on my index finger. I was able to remove the portion of the thorn with tweezers, within 3 hours my knuckle began to become swollen and painful. Now, this morning it is extremely swollen down into the second joint in the index finger and is swollen and hot to touch on the knuckle radiating onto the top of my hand. it is extremely tender to even bend the finger. please advise

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your swollen and painful finger around your knuckles following removal of a thorn I am suggesting strongly that you have developed a cellulitis to rule out wound abscess

In view of this please do the following test
Blood culture
Wound culture

Meanwhile please see an emergency physician with the results and for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription

Moreover please take the following pending your appointment

Tablet antibiotic
Tablet analgesic
Tablet antifungal

I hope this helps Regards
