Suggest Treatment For The Difficulties Related To Menopause
Dear Dr Chetna My mother is 51years of age and going through menopause. She had her last period a year back. She constantly complains of uneasiness, sweating, fungal infection in nails, pain in nails of hand and feet, sometime pain in shoulder and hands and weight gain. Could you please suggest what all she should include or exclude from her diet so that this state is relaxed. She is pure vegetarian and presently going for morning walks for 30mins. Thanks n regards Herina
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Menopausal symptoms require hormonal therapy. 2. It cannot be controlled with diet. Looking at her symptoms, it appears severe. Need to control with medications, psychological support and hormonal therapy. 3. Also nutritional diet, moderate exercise is very helpful. Continue morning walks. Some amount of resistance exercises to build muscle and bone is also necessary. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
