Suggest Treatment For Tension Headache

I am having a problem similar to a lot of people on here. My glasses tend to cause discomfort behind my ears and then after wearing them for a while I start to get a tension headache in both sides of the back of my head and neck. My glasses were purchased on Zennioptical online so they were not tried on to see if they fit, I took them into my local eye doctors office, had the ear pieces bent so they would stay on my face and that is about it. Any advice?

Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Yes,you rightly mentioned this glass problem as a cause of Tension type headache(TTH).Infact, its a frequent one.TTH or stress headache can actually be precipitated by any factor which can cause irritation and hence a tonic contracted state of the muscles of scalp, which thus results in diffuse heaviness or headache.
As far as treatment is concerned, doing regular mental relaxation exercises/Yoga/Pranayama helps the most.If inspite of doing these exercises, headache persist, then low dose amitriptyline can be very useful.PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE.I hope it helps.
