Suggest Treatment For Tenderness On The Incision Keloid

I had heart valve replacement last year. I am an African American and the incision keloided as expected however the keloid is still tender. It hurts if I rub it up against something. Is there something I can apply to it that will help this situation.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of topical voltaren or a similar agent ,can help with pain relief. If you can use paracetamol, this would also help as well and should not affect the heart valve but you can confirm with your doctor.

There are treatment options for the keloid itself that your doctor can go through with you eg compression therapy, injection of the keloid, various oral medications.

You may speak to your doctor about the options that are available to you.

I hope this helps
