Suggest Treatment For Tachycardia

Hi, i was in the ER this past Monday for an extremely fast HR (163) that i have been dealing with for 3mo, (doctors trying to find problem). I was diagnosed with Tachycardia in ER and they have put me on Metoprol 50mg 1/2 pill 2 times a day. My question is, i am still having major constant chest pains. Is this common for this beta blocker? I have only been on it for 2 days.

Beta blocker is given to reduce your heart rate. But underlying cause for high heart rate needs to be found out. Thyroid cortisol and other hormones need to be checked. Also ecg echo needs to be done
