Hi, Best will be to practice abstinence from sexual activity till your tpha titres are decreased and confirms cure of syphilis .Thereafter you can have safe sex with no contact of body fluids unless you are aware of the STD status of your partner. This I suggest because of the extremely infectious nature of the syphilis and improper use of a barrier can still lead to exposure and reinfection due to contact with body fluids. If you do this you will protect yourself from reinfection and protect your partner from getting infected by you. Please identify all your sexual partners and have them investigated and treated as well. You cannot transmit syphilis if your mucocutaneous lesions have healed completely, but having protected sex will prevent you from acquiring syphilis and other std if your partner is infected.
