Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Vaginal Prolapse

I saw my physician because I was showing symptoms of vaginal prolapse. My doctor has referred me to a specialist due to a lower abdominal hernia. She mentioned that my constipation has caused a hernia from my lower intestine and it is bulging out through my vaginal canal and that I need an operation. What is this called? and what type of surgery will be performed? Thank you in advance for your response.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

No, you don't have to be much worried about it. You should continue doing Kegel exercises and pelvic floor muscles exercise which make them stronger and help to hold the vagina in a position that may be grade 1 prolapse. If any symptomatology starts you should consult OB-GYN.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
