Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Tinnitus

Hello From Mid September, I began to develop a sense of fullness with a woosh sound, reflecting my heartbeat, or a circulation of air, and I have seen 6 GPs, and many of them have told me there is a bit of fluid behind my eardrum. I used Omnaris nasal spray for almost 13 days, and it did not help. I asked if I could change it to a different spray and this time, one GP prescribed APO-Mometasone. This sound is really killing me, it had drastically lowered my life quality. Please tell me this will go away.. I want to know what is the reason for this sound and why it has taken this long? How can I treat it? I really appreciare your feedback and response

Hi..

As per your complain it seems that ringing in ears can occur due to causes like ear infection, perforated eardrum, excess ear wax accumulation, Eustachian tube dysfunction, Meniere's disease, TMJ disorders etc.

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

In case if there is perforation in the eardrum you can be advised antibiotics, anti inflammatroy painkiller and nasal decongestant sprays..Antibiotic eardrops can also be advised..

In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised..White noise devices can be advised..

You can also be advised Neuromodulation..Avoid exposure to very loud sounds and also avoid diving, swimming etc..

Hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
