Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Depression

I've been to my GP and my OB/GYN over the corse of 6 months. With a laundry list of symtoms. Gp gave me zoloft 100mg (this was about a month ago). Several months ago my ob/gyn gave my prozac 20 mg. I've been told it's normal to feel the way I do at my age (32) and I'm just depressed.

I don't feel this is the case. I'd like to seek another opinion, but unsure where to turn

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

Depression is a mood disorder and is usually treated by anti depressants. Commonly SSRIs are used for treatment. Zoloft (Sertraline) and Prozac (Fluoxetine) both are SSRI drugs and are used in depression. Both are safe to use and it depends upon clinicians choice and side effect profile to prescribe a drug.

As per my opinion you can go with 100 mg doses and these doses would help to reduce the symptoms.

Thanks, hope this helps you

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. You were under OB/Gyn and GP treatment for depression. They gave you medicines for depression Fine. Are you continuing them? What was the prognosis? If you really feel that you are depressed, first consult a psychologist for an evaluation and diagnosis. The psychologist will tell you what to do next after diagnosis and evaluation.
