Suggest Treatment For Swollen Taste Buds On The Tongue

I always bite my tongue and I ve been nonstop picking at this swollen tastebud and now the area around it feels swollen a little and sore. I am very scared about cancer and even worse things. I am a little of a hypochondriac though. I just want to know if the area could be swollen from my constant biting and picking at it.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your question due to continuous biting habit of tongue can lead to irritation of tongue leading to inflammation and swelling of taste buds and can lead to soreness and discomfort..

First thing you should do is to quit your habit or else continuous irritation will aggravate the problem..
Saline gargles can help in reducing pain and inflammation.
Apply glycerine to the affected area can help in healing.
Suck on ice cubes to reduce inflammation.
Eating yoghurt can also help..

If you still experience discomfort consult a doctor to get checked for the other causes of swelling of taste buds.

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regard..
