Suggest Treatment For Swollen Neck, Swollen Lymph Node And Red Rashes On Arms And Legs

my ten year old son has complained of neck pain, his neck is swollen and a lymph node in his throat is swollen like a golf ball. he has a red rash that started on his legs and is now on his arms as well. We took him to urgent care and the strep test was negative. A doctor prescribed an antibiotic and he has only taken the first dose but he seems to be getting worse. His face looks like it is starting to swell up as well and his rash is spreading even more. The doctor never said what he thought this was. My son is autistic and doesn t really inform me how he feels.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen neck, swollen lymph node and red rashes on arms and legs . The symptoms can also occur due to bacterial and viral infection , tonsillitis or lymphadenopathy, it is not a serious condition and when you will take medication for treating the infection like antibiotics the swollen lymph nodes will resolve gradually. In case of viral infection , the infection will b gone in few days by its own. You should consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated and get tested for bacterial infection and viral infection to rule out the exact cause of infection and treatment can be planned accordingly. As of now do cool compresses over the rashes . Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy . Doctor warm saline gargles and apply warm compresses on neck.
