Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck

i had an ultra sound of my neck because i felt like it was swollen and had trouble swallowing. I was told i have swollen lymph nodes. i recently had blood work done and nothing of note was on the bloodwork. What are the causes of this and wouldn t the blood work have shown some infection or cancer related problems?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to HCM...

If swollen lymph node present than history should be taken regarding drug history , weight loss, anorexia , previous cancer history , smoking history etc ......

All this history needed to rule out common causes like metastatic malignant node , tuberculosis etc...
Sometime chronic infection or inflammation can lead reactive lymph Node enlargement .

If with antibiotic use and after week lymph node not decreasing in size and it is large enough than FNAC needed to rule out nature of enlarged lymph node
Here size is also not mentioned

According to cause management done

Advise ; Physician consultation for lymph Node palpation and examination....

Take care
