Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My lips are swollen and now they burn for the past 3 weeks went to two different doctors and they both do not know the cause and said it might be allergies. It started with the bottom lip and now its the bottom and half of the top lip and now I feel the burning on the inside of the lip and outside. I have no sores in and around my mouth, and no other symptoms (i.e. fever...)
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen lips which could be due to simple chapping of lips, lip licking, infection, allergic reaction and autoimmune disease.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to to apply lip balm with SPF factor 15 and keep yourself hydrate by drinking plenty of water. Suck on ice pops. Immediately stop licking and picking of your lips. Take vitamin B2 and niacin supplement. If condition persist even after doing above treatment then consult oral pathologist for proper examination and to rule out conditions. Doctor may start treatment accordingly and take antihistamine medications to prevent allergy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
