Suggest Treatment For Swollen Face After Treated Tonsilitis

My son was diagnosed with tontilitis and then was rushed into hospital a few days later as his face swelled twice the size and he couldn t speak. it wasn t mumps as they thought, they treated with powerful antibiotics and steroids which hes finished but he is still not feeling well?

Hi.
The Tonsillitis can have such an complication where the kidneys are affected. IT is good that mumps has to be ruled out.

Hence the cause of facial edema/ swelling can be due to a generalized disease or an allergy to some medicines or Spear of tonsillar infection into the subcutaneous planes and give facial edema.
You have to get all the relevant blood, urine and other tests.
Particularly the Kidney function tests like urea and creatinine .
Continue the treatment till the patient recovers well.
