Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have what feels like a swollen or lump, not sure along the side of my face near the ear. my ear is tender to touch and i can feel that it seems swollen a bit. I ve been to my family doctor for the pain and she didn t seem to see what i was trying to tell her. She said it will go away. It has been there for about 3 months or so.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of swelling and tenderness along side of face near ear seems to be due to reactionary lymphadenitis i.e inflammation and swelling of lymph nodes. Need not to worry. You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial along with anti inflammatory medications. If there are recurring episodes and swelling does not subside then you should go for biopsy to find exact cause. You should apply warm compresses to swelling and avoid using excessive phone from that side and take rest properly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
