Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Tender Breast

I had a robotic assist hysterectomy 5 weeks ago. In the last couple of weeks my breast have been extremely tender and at least a cup size larger, there is crusty discharge like when I breast fed my 3 children, my youngest is almost 15. I am 44 - no history of breast cancer in my family, I had a mammogram a month before my surgery. Is this normal? Do I need to make an appointment with my Gyno? I have already had the post op visit.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Crusty discharge on the nipples after hysterectomy can be due to hormonal disturbances like hyperprolactemia.
Some drugs also lead todischarge from nipples and as such these should be ruled out.
I will suggest you to consult your OBGYN specialist to get appropriate investigations and treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
