Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Throat

My son (only 35lbs lighter) and i were playing tag. When I tried to block him from home base, he talked me with his arm up which made forceful contact with my throat, whipped my head back so hard my teeth chattered & I landed on my back. I am 14 weeks pregnant (not sure that matters but disclosing). For 30 minutes after the hit, my throat was numb & that half of my neck swelled up completely. I iced it & took ibuprofen. However, today it s still swollen & i m experiencing discomfort swallowing. I assume it s sprained...but what can I do to find some relief & how long to I can expect it to feel better?

Hi.
This is sort of throtling although done inadvertently and is symptomatic and in addition you are 17 weeks pregnant hence we will have to be careful in investigations and writing you medicines.

I would advise you the following in such a case:
MRI (it is safe in pregnancy) of the neck to find the extent of the trauma and then to take the treatment accordingly.
Remember to ask your Gynecologist before you take any medicines .
I find this answer helpful
