Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Throat

Hello I am a 27 yr old female. I took Molly last Friday 1/9 and I experience having a lot of jaw clenching and cracking. The next day I could barely open my mouth and my throat was swollen and felt very bumby as if I would ve had a bad allergy but it wasn t itchy it was painful. I ve experienced pain in my left ear as well and could barely chew. On Monday I was able to eat a little more and open but I had trouble sleeping w the pain on my left side. I noticed that I can t completely bite down on my left side. Also I m not sure if it s just me or I haven t noticed before but I feel that when I talk me front teeth hit each other and it s been driving me crazy. I ve been trying to force my molars to meet which is causing pain in my front teeth and gums. Will this go away? And my bite eventually back to normal? I feel pain by my left ear when I open my mouth all the way and look down. Please help!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello!!

Thank you for your query.
The reason for your pain seems to be coming from your Left Temperomandibular joint i.e the joint for chewing. The reason most of the time is a improper bite esp a hard nut or likewise. sometimes it could be from an impacted last molar. This is what I would suggest you to do
1. Eat soft food x 1 week
2. Avoid eating on that side of the jaw
3. Take a simple painkiller like Ibubrufen for 2 days.
4. Give hot fomentation to the painful area from outside.
5. Salt water rinses

If these measures don't work I would suggest you to meet a Dentist who would be able to give you a better solution.
I hope my answer helped.
